Selection of a defensive firearm is a very personal thing. We cannot make blanket
recommendations to everybody as to the "one best firearm" for every situation. During the
course of this webpage, we will examine a number of questions to ask yourself  when selecting what may be the best firearm(s) for you. 

Usage - What is the desired use of the firearm?

  • Concealed Carry:  
    • Look for something light, but easy to handle.  A large-caliber, heavy pistol left at home is of no use to you if trouble arises. 
    • Stainless steel or some of the other finishes (Beretta's Bruniton or Glock's tenifer) will provide adequate protection to the firearm while minimizing maintenance to prevent corrosion due to body moisture.
